Greg earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan in 1993 and graduated from the Wayne State University Law School in 1996. Greg is a member of the Taxation, Business Law and Real Property Law Sections of the State Bar of Michigan and has practiced law in Traverse City since 1997.
Greg concentrates his practice in the areas of business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, finance/banking, real estate and general corporate governance and securities matters. He has substantial experience representing corporations, institutions and other entities in all aspects of business and corporate existence, from creation/acquisition, equity/ownership structuring, development and day-to-day operation to expansion, capitalization and sale. Greg serves as advisory counsel to several corporate boards, director groups and special committees and is frequently engaged to assist in strategic planning, product development and business structuring.
Greg has advised hundreds of businesses throughout his twenty plus years of practice. That business experience and his depth and breadth of knowledge allow him to bring certain intangibles to a business or transaction that benefits his clients beyond mere legal representation.
While Greg’s practice is firmly rooted in Northwest Michigan, he is also routinely engaged in transactions that have a regional, national or international scope. The business dealings of Greg’s client base canvas the country and even extend throughout Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Greg’s experience in this regard has included navigating foreign regulatory regimes, negotiating with foreign counsel and providing guidance on over-seas vendor and service provider relationships.
Greg’s client base includes financial institutions, banks, manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, medical suppliers, oil, gas and energy producers, internet and software companies, real estate developers, construction trades and food producers/processors.
