Edgar (Ed) Roy III is a partner at Kuhn Rogers, offering the firm’s clients the benefit of his nearly 40 years of experience in the practice of law. He has been practicing law in Traverse City since 1986, concentrating his practice primarily in the areas of general civil and complex commercial litigation, zoning, and facilitative mediation. He is also a certified mediator and case evaluator.
Ed enjoys communicating with his clients and engaging in high-level problem-solving to minimize their professional and personal strife and maximize the opportunities available to them. He takes pride in helping clients visualize the landscape of their litigated matter and traverse that landscape in a way that both conserves their resources and advances their interests.
Understanding how important his clients’ legal matters are to them, Ed practices with a sense of urgency and focus, treating each client in such a way that they feel as if they are his only client. Opposing counsel have described Ed as a “tough fighter” with a high degree of integrity. Colleagues appreciate the unique perspective Ed brings to analysis of legal issues, noting both his decades of experience and continued drive to become a better lawyer every day and to achieve success for all of his clients.
When not practicing law, Ed enjoys spending time with his wife and three adult children. He also loves getting outdoors to enjoy the beauty of Northern Michigan as a conservationist, hunter and fisherman; and is proud to have been appointed by two Michigan governors to serve on the Michigan Wildlife Council.
