Marc S. McKellar

Attorney Marc McKellar II began working at Kuhn Rogers in 2012, while still in law school, and is currently a partner at the firm. Marc centers his practice primarily in the areas of real estate development and land use, including acquisition of property, land use approval, and related litigation. Marc enjoys these areas because of the collaborative nature of the work and the opportunity to be involved in a truly hands-on way.

Marc describes his approach to practice as pragmatic: there are aspects of any situation that can be controlled and those that are out of an attorney or client’s control. Marc exercises as much control as possible wherever he can, and is determined never to be outworked in any situation. Even when he is not at the office, he continues to think about his clients’ matters and how he can best help to achieve their goals.

Clients appreciate Marc’s dedication, personal attention and responsiveness to their concerns. Marc understands that helping clients know what to expect, and giving them honest answers at every stage of their legal matter, makes the process better for everyone. He strives to provide as much predictability as possible for his clients, helping them understand not only where they are in the legal process, but what lies ahead. Colleagues describe Marc’s ability to communicate and connect with clients as one of his greatest strengths in practice.

A native of Traverse City, Marc currently resides in Kingsley with his wife Kate and their three children. When not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, driving classic cars, and enjoying the natural beauty of northern Michigan while golfing, fishing, hunting, or snowmobiling.
